Eligibility Criteria

A university entrance exam, such as the German Abitur, and evidence of German language proficiency, such as the DSH-2 or TestDaF, are typically required for admission to the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) as an international student. Additionally, certain programs could call for certain subject-related qualifications or English language ability.

General Requirements:
University Entrance Qualification:
You'll need a qualification that's equivalent to the German Abitur. For Indian students, this often means completing 12 years of schooling with specific subject combinations or passing the JEE Advanced exam.

Academic Transcripts:
Submit certified copies of your previous academic records, preferably translated into German or English.

APS Certificate:
Students from countries like India, China, and Vietnam need to obtain an APS certificate to verify the authenticity of their academic documents.

Language Proficiency:
German: Most Bachelor's programs require a high level of German proficiency, typically at the DSH-2 level or above, or TestDaF (TDN 4 in all modules), or Goethe-Zertifikat C1.

English: A few Bachelor's programs may require English language proficiency, such as IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 88.

Master's programs: Language requirements vary by program. Some are German-taught, others English-taught, and some offer a combination.

Application Portal:
Most international applicants apply through the uni-assist portal, which verifies documents and forwards valid applications to TU Berlin.

Specific Requirements:
Bachelor's Programs:
In addition to the general requirements, you may need to provide specific documents related to your chosen program.

Master's Programs:
You'll need a recognized first university degree. Some Master's programs require work experience, and some may ask for specific proofs or certificates.

TestAS:
Some international applicants may need to take the TestAS, an aptitude test for foreign students, unless they are exempt due to qualifying exams like JEE Advanced.

Important Notes:
Deadlines for applications vary by program, so check the TU Berlin website for specific dates.
You are responsible for ensuring your application is complete and submitted by the deadline.
TU Berlin does not offer "conditional admission" or "provisional admission".
