Nepal Bans Unregistered Social Media like Facebook & Youtube

The Nepal Government has decided to Ban Social Media that are not registered in Nepal. The Nepal Government published multiple notices asking Social Media to register in Nepal. As a result, those who didn't get registered are now banned in Nepal. Top names include Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp, and Hamro Patra among the Social Media which are banned in Nepal. 

Below is the List of Social Media that are banned in Nepal:

2. Messenger

3. Instagram

4. YouTube

5. WhatsApp

6. Twitter / X

7. LinkedIn

8. Snapchat

9. Reddit

10. Discord

11. Pinterest

12. Signal

13. WeChat

14. Threads

15. Soul

16. Quora

17. Tumblr

18. Clubhouse

19. Mastodon

20. Rumble

21. MeWe

22. VK (V Kontakte)

23. LINE

24. imo

25. Zalo

26. Hamro Patro

Below are the five social media which are registered in Nepal and operating:


1. TikTok

2. Viber

3. Nimbuzz

4. WeTalk

5. Popo Live

It will take some hours for ISPs to block all those social media. 

As per the Nepal Government, any social media which are blocked as per the latest decision can register anytime and remove the ban.
